I watch 20 minutes of Transformers at FYE shopping. Not worth it since it relies 85% on the effects and 15% on close ups on the actor's faces to make the movie-- leaving 100% of the acting to Leonard Nimoy.

While there are a few on the list that I'm not going to go to great lengths to see before February 26, Transformers and Anonymous are going to be actively avoided. One could argue that this will leave me less informed in the categories of costume design, sound design & editing, and visual effects, but I would counter with the idea that there are too many good movies to see to waste my time on Michael May or Roland Emmerich (a philosophy that I do not limit to awards season).

Also, the visual effects in the first Transformers movie were some of the ugliest things ever put to film, and I've seen nothing to indicate that they've changed the look since then - how does this work keep getting nominated?
